GWR 2-8-0T tank 4270 photographed at Toddington during May 2016. Withdrawn in 1962 4270 spent time in Barry scrapyard until rescued. The engine, built at Swindon in 1919, is a member of the 42xx Class of heavy freight tanks, and was designed to haul 1000t coal trains over relatively short distances.
