Credits first. This route and the trains which run on it would not be possible without the hard work of many BVE
developers. Specific mention goes to Steve Green, Robert Glass and Anthony Bowden.
Steve Green did the class 170 and also the class 158 (with Robert Glass). I definitely recommend you visit
Steve's site and download the Remastered BR colour light signals for added realism.
I have used several items of scenery from Robert Glass's Sandymill route (it is Scottish after all) including the new liveried class
158 models.

Anthony Bowden has also contributed various items of scenery and he gets the credit for the "passing train" and "steel
bridge" sounds. The Class 37 was designed by Anthony and Robert and the 2x37 version I use is a slight modification of their excellent
model. Credit for the sounds and a photograph used in the 37 model goes to Andy Slater whose web site is

Top honour should go to that wonderful philanthropist, Mr Mackoy!
Another person
who requires a special mention is John Owen, master of the digital recording. Several of his recordings have been used e.g.
AWS sounds, but the pick of the bunch just has to be the 158 leaving Haymarket towards Waverley just as you drive in in your 158 or 170. John
also had a major hand in the design of the 150 object. Why not visit his website.
All of the routes on this site are now BVETSS compatible.
The routes are developments of the original Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy route using a pair of 37's as motive power. In general, you need three
files to run any one route: the scenery & sound file, the traction file and the route/timetable file. All the files are zipped and most
self-extract. You only have to detail which DRIVE you have BVE installed on, then after downloading to a temporary directory, run or unzip
the files "using folder names" to the appropriate (usually c:) drive.
All the main line routes require version 2.5 (or higher) of BVE as they are in csv format, use animated cab views and have
more than 4096 freeobj statements. The B&K routes will run on any BVE version 2.
All of the routes on this site were originally written for BVE 2.x and were not compatible with BVE 4.x. This part of the site has been split into two sections, one exclusively for BVE2 related material (including all the Bo'ness stuff) and one for the newer BVE4 compatible traction and routes.
The routes I wrote for BVE4 needed work done to make them compatible with openBVE and I was severely hampered by being unable to run openBVE on my Vista laptop. The laptop is the usual place for BVE development work. The problem has now been resolved by the installation of SP2 even though Vista told me I was completely up to date!
