Glen Douglas was in the care of the SRPS for several years, but in 2009 the owners, the Glasgow Museum of Transport arranged for the locomotive to return to its native city. It is photographed in the yard at Bo'ness just prior to its journey to the west.
Glen Douglas was built in 1913 at NBR Cowlairs Works, Springburn, Glasgow. After grouping it was reclassed from NBR "K" to LNER "D34" and renumbered 9256. In BR days the number 62469 was carried.
